The simple front-mounted adapters allow users to change from quick-change collets, 5C collets, I.D. expanding and step chucks in seconds. “The ability to use all of these col- let systems in a single set-up increases the flexibility of machining opera- tions,” said a company spokesperson. “Standard 5C tooling can now be used on a FlexC 65 chuck, extended nose collets, step chucks and 5C I.D. expanding arbors, for example. Small hole machining can be done at a mini- mum size of .008 inch, increasing the capability of the current quick-change systems. When using a step chuck for parts up to 6 inches in diameter, it can now be handled without removing the quick-change collet chuck as well. You can couple all of these advantages with changing from FlexC to 5C, along with the ability to use the Sure-Grip expanding collet system on a FlexC 65 pullback chuck.” An adapter for either the 5C arbor or the FlexC mount expanding collet System will provide the option of per- forming I.D. gripping. 5C Collet Rotary Table- CNC Indexing & Feeding Technologies The TJR AR-5C pneumatic collet rotary table offers an alternative to 3- or 4-jaw chucks for users whose work- pieces require the use of 5C collets. The AR-5C rotary table employs a 5C collet closer system and can be integrated into a CNC machine control as a full 4th axis or operated as an indexer via TJR’s Single Axis Controller (SAC). The table features a powerful pneumatic braking system and is available in right-handed and left-handed motor mount configura- tions. A radial-axial preloaded bearing system provides high rigidity, and a dual-lead worm shaft and worm gear help provide long-term indexing ac- curacy in both directions. Table diameter is 4.92”, with a thru-hole diameter of 1.37”. Minimum indexing increment is 0.001° and maximum table rotation speed is 83.3 RPM. Peak allowable workpiece load
